The student health insurance my school offers is too expensive for my tight budget. I'm already trying to pay off tuition and room/board, and literally all of my money and most of my moms money goes towards trying to get a diploma at a prestigious school. I've been thinking of the alternatives, seeing as my school's state requires students to have health insurance. I found out that I qualify for Medicaid. Obviously, I can't apply for Virginia's Medicaid because they don't cover low-income adults anymore and I just turned 18. However I am eligible for Mass. Medicaid. However, I don't even know how that would work because I would still be a legal resident of Virginia. I will be at home for most of my breaks, which add up to 4 months a year. I have to go to a dermatologist pretty regularly so what would happen when I'm in Virginia and need to go to the doctors? My school's insurance is $1,920, which I know is great deal for BCBS, but it's too much on top of what I'm already paying. Anyone have any alternatives?

How does Driver's License affect insurance in Washington State?

I'm 18 and just recently moved in with my grandparents so I can go to school. I would like to get my driver's license, but they are telling me I can't because it would make their insurance rates go up. I don't think that makes any sense because I don't have a car, and I don't drive theirs. Would me getting a driver's license affect them at all actually?

Canceling car insurance?

i got some car insurance for a car i was purchasing today as i did not want to drive it home over 100 miles with out none , i only took it out yesterday but when i went to pick up the car it had obtained some problems that it did not have before so i have not brought it. i was told when i got the insurance that i would have 14 days to cancel it but when i rung them up today to cancel it they have said i can not and i will have to pay all of the premium in full, i explained to them why i was needing to cancel it and was told it is not their fault and i still have to pay all outstanding monies , is this right . this is with swinton if it matters.

Why do insurance companies hate performance/modified cars?

It seems like the ideal insurance company wants you to drive a safe and slow bumper car and have absolutely no fun driving to and from wherever you are going. They assume that any sports car or car with performance enhancements means you will crash. It means you are a reckless driver and no good to the general public. It means you will blatantly violate the rules of the road and have no remorse for doing it. All of that is a load of crap... Most of the major car companies don't even offer, when getting a free quote, to see Ferrari's or Lamborghinis prices, they just won't insure them! Your expected to report any and all modifications to the company so they can jack up the premium. So why do they hate those types of cars so much?
